Our aim at Hair Techniques is to provide Gympie and surround with a professional and quality services in the Hair and Beauty Industry. In order for our salon to do this we have implemented the following policies.
Cancellation & Deposit
Hair Techniques is a family run local business that employs local. The allocated / booked appointment is reserved especially for you. We understand that things can come up and you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment.
When booking appointment with Hair Techniques they guarantee you this time and appoint a fully qualified, highly skilled senior stylist to consult and (senior/apprentice) to carry out a professional hair or beauty service.
Hair Techniques prides our salon and our stylists/barber to provide a quality service in a timely manner. In order to do this we have implemented the following policies.
No show of appointments will occur a 50% services booked no show fee. A phonecall to 54 824 712 will avoid this occurring. Payment will be collected via creditcard. Rescheduling your appointment with less than 48 hours notice will occur 50% service booked and allocated fee. To avoid any charges please respect we have booked, allocated and scheduled our team to be your awesome stylists/barber.
As a new client when booking an appointment you will be required to pay a deposit fee, details of which are as follow:
50% deposit for the selected services – allocated services 2.5 hr or more (as per on Kitomba booking system) when booking online through Kitomba 50% deposit via phone booking for colouring, hair extensions, formals, weddings, special event styling and services which are allocated 2.5 hours or more.
Your deposit is not an extra charge it is simply held on an account for you on your booking and taken off your final bill. Please be aware that the only way you will ever lose your deposit is if you don’t call 54824712 cancel or reschedule your scheduled appointment ‘no less than 48hrs notice’, No Show or if you are more than 15mins late for your scheduled appointment.
To ensure the return of your deposit you need to call 54 824712, 48hrs prior to your appointment if you need to cancel or re-schedule otherwise your deposited is forfeited.
This minimum cancellation period will give Hair Techniques and your personal hairdresser fair opportunity to fill appointment spot.
Last minute cancellations do have a significant impact on Hair Techniques their clients and team. We have implemented a deposit policy and find it the fairest way of managing commitment to appointments.

Reminder Service (SMS or Email – your preferred service)
We offer an SMS / Email reminder service which is sent to you the day prior to your appointment. On receiving this reminder, we ask that you confirm “YES” no private messages (this is a self automated service) If you need to change or reschedule, we ask you to call salon 54 824 712 (within business hours) Outside of business hour, 48 hrs prior (fb message to Hair Techniques or email to email@example.com
If a mobile or email is not provided reminders will not be sent.
Appointment Booking Times
You must arrive on time to ensure you receive the full service you have booked. If you are running late, please let us know – via phoning 54824712 (not a text msg/or facebook msg). We will do everything we can to accommodate you, however, please keep in mind that we may have to reschedule your appointment, or may not have time to complete the whole service, in which case we will be more than happy to book you in for another booking.
Family Friendly Salon – Responsibility for children & personal Items
As many of our stylists know, handling kids can be tricky at times. Our salon and team welcome Hair Techniques as a salon for the whole family. Although for the safety and comfort of all clients, we ask that children under 13 are always accompanied by adults at all times. Hair Techniques may ask if a child under 18 is receiving a service, a consent form must be signed by parent/guardian prior to the services being performed.
Even though we take as much care as possible, please not that personal items are the responsibility of the client. Any breakages or damage of the salon items, equipment or products will incur a cost to the client.
Quote & Estimate of Services
All quotes via email, phone, Facebook, Instagram and google are an estimated quote and may not be the final figure – less or more. If you require a more accurate quote please book a complimentary consultation with one of our senior stylists. (Allocated time is 15mins) If you require a quote on your appointment day, please ask your stylists prior to starting – during consultation.
Gift Certificate Policy
Gift Certificates can be purchased online via our website or by ringing salon 54824712. Gift Certificate purchased on website will be emailed to person/s receiving as a gift from person/s purchasing via email. All gift certificates are tracked by a tracking numbers and photocopies will not be accepted. All gift certificates are non-refundable and not redeemable for cash. Gift certificates are valid for services and products.
It is against Hair Techniques Policy to perform services on clients with head lice. If a client has been advised – diagnosed with head lice while receiving a service in the salon we will not be able to complete the service on the same day. We would be able to complete the service once all headlice are treated and have vacated.
Pre exfoliation of the whole body (skin) and wearing the appropriate clothing (loose fitting) to salon for tan is the responsibility of the client getting the tan. After tan client is not to rub with hands any part of the tan before having shower. Client is advised by tanning specialist the time to leave tan before having a shower (either 20mins express or 2hr tan). If skin is dry client is advised to moisturize skin to avoid tan grabbing in dry areas. No swimming, going to the gym or sitting in a car within the developing time is not recommended. Naked Tan recommended and designed products - cleansers, exfoliating, moisturising are the preferred and recommended by our tanning specialist.
Tans are non-refundable if any of these aspects of tanning have not be complied too. But we do offer a complimentary discounted tan within 2 weeks.
Methods of Payments
Hair Techniques accepts Visa, MasterCard, Afterpay, Salon Pay or Cash.
Hair Techniques also offer AFTERPAY and salonpay – if these options of payment are you choice please let your stylists know in consultation – prior to the service starting.
Walk in Appointments
Hair Techniques welcome walk in appointments – Our team hope that if we are busy with other appointments you will understand and can pop in another day or book prior to your next appointment.
Hair Techniques monitors the privacy and confidentiality of person information and ensures compliance to all relevant legislative and moral requirements by instilling discipline in all aspects of our business.
Our objective is to protect and maintain the privacy, and security of your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988. Personal information collected by Hair Techniques generally comprises of name, address, email, contact details and certain financial information. The National Privacy Principles require Hair Techniques not to store information longer than necessary. We are committed to the privacy and protection of your information.
At Hair Techniques we strive to perform consultations before starting any services.
We want your appointment to be as successful as possible and achieve the most desired personal outcome from your visit. If your desired colour, style cannot be achieved within the booked appointment, we will as stylist/barber work with you future bookings that are realistic the health and integrity of your hair/skin.
